It is rare in life to have your dreams fulfilled and I have had the extreme privilege of having my dream realized. The kids at Dixie are top of the line. The pride and dedication with the band members is what makes it a joy to come to work every day. The band staff is also the greatest group of people I could have asked to work with. Each staff member has proven their dedication to the kids and the program and I am grateful to work side by side with them. The parents and all of the alumni of the band have been 100% supportive and work extremely hard for the program. Eyes With Pride!”

Greg Wagner Greg has been in charge of percussion at Dixie for the past six years. Under his direction the percussion has had great success and continues to grow in size and quality. Some of my greatest memories have occurred while being the percussion director at Dixie. I love working with the kids at Dixie. It is their passion and dedication that motivates me more as a percussion instructor. To all the Dixie alum that were a part of the program when it was large, we will be back in size some day. Keep on believing and never give up!” Percussion Instructor
Brian “Roc” Mason Roc has been teaching percussion at Dixie since 2001 and has been teaching for 14 years total. He previously taught at his alma mater Holmes High School. He attended Eastern Kentucky University where he was chosen to march in the Intercollegiate Marching Band Parade (1994). In 1996 Roc was a part of the indoor percussion line that performed at the P.A.S. Championships, which finished 10th in the world. Besides his percussion talents, Roc has also played the trumpet, playing in EKU’s concert band for fun. Besides his work with the Dixie Band, Roc works in the 401(k) department at Fidelity Investments. "The thing that keeps me coming back to work with Dixie Heights is the hard work, dedication, the passion, the blood, the sweat, and the tears the students put into the band. I do not only appreciate the students but also the parents that give their all to make sure the kids have food and drinks, clean uniforms, and clean shoes. Our parents work "Hot" Soccer/Football games to raise money to keep the band afloat, and the love that the parents show to kids other than their own is awesome!! That is why I love to work with this program, and I thank and Praise the "Man above" for giving me the opportunity to work with such wonderful kids and parents that make up that which is called "The Dixie Heights Marching Band.” Keith Connelly

When asked of his opinions of working with Dixie, Andrew replied, "This is the best group that I've had the opporunity to instruct. I've never worked with a group that works as hard as these members, always striving to push the envelope of their limits. It makes the act of instruction even more enjoyable when they laugh at my stupid jokes - even though they really don't want to."
