The Schedule will have a lot of variance depending on how far we advance. I will try my best to get updates sent home Thursday should we make Friday Finals. Both Turkey Foot and Dixie have been notified about students missing school on Thursday and Friday. If we do not make it past Prelims on Thursday, students should return to school on Friday. If we make semi’s and do not make finals on Friday it is up to each individual parent as to whether they send their student to school on Friday. We will be retuning very late on Thursday should we make Semi-Finals. Nutter Center and University of Dayton Arena For our class, all of Thursday will take place at the Nutter Center (an arena in Dayton, similar to US Bank Arena). All of Friday’s events for us will take place at the University of Dayton Arena. TICKETS – Tickets for all preliminary events can be purchased on-site at the event. Tickets for the 2008 Percussion World Championships can be purchased by calling (937) 229-4433 starting April 10th until Wednesday April 16th. As of today, I have not been able to find ticket prices. CLASS EXPLANATIONS In Indoor Percussion there are 3 different categories based on experience. Class A (our class) is the lowest of the three. The Open Class is the middle class and usually the performers in the Open Class are asked to do more complex skills and the show themes are on a higher level. The highest class is called World Class, and is usually filled with groups who are performing very artistic shows with a great deal of complexity. All three categories (A, Open, and World) are then divided into two separate groups, Scholastic and Independent. Scholastic groups are directly tied to an individual school or feeder school (like us and Turkey Foot). Independent groups are just that, independent of a school and put together by individuals. Sometimes a school might have an independent group, such as Ryle Independent Winter Guard, but not all members in the group are from that school.
