THIS COMPETITION IS AT THE OLD HIGH SCHOOL, WHICH IS CURRENTLY THE MIDDLE SCHOOL

-          From Dixie, take I-275 East

-          Exit 77 – Wilder (AA Highway)

-          Turn right off of Exit onto the AA highway.

-          Travel about 3 miles on the AA, up the huge hill and then exit onto 27 South / Alexandria.

-          Turn right off of the Exit onto 27 South.

-          Stay on this road for about 3 miles, passing Wal-Mart and Campbell County Middle School will be on the Left.  It is the old high school.

EXPECT TRAFFIC ON I-275 as “Revive the Drive” construction continues!!

If you would like to caravan/carpool to the competition please arrive behind the concession stand around 12:15pm.

All students are responsible for their own equipment and helping with unloading props and uniforms.

Please pick students up by the concession stand and the football field.  I will remain at Dixie until all students are picked up.  

Uniform Information

All students must have their RED BAGS with them at all contests.  Their marching shoes need to be clean and with them at all times. 

Wind and Percussion Members –                              

       Make sure you have the following items in your bag.

            1.  2 Pairs of Clean, LONG, PLAIN white socks (no stripes)

            2.  Plain White Underwear.   No patterns or colors.  You will be able to see patterns and colors through the white pants and if you do not bring white underwear, then the band moms will make you change into them.  No bikini underwear.

            3.  Clean Shoes

            4.  Band Show Shirt

            5.  Plain white t-shirt used only for when wearing the uniform.

            6.  Deodorant – Axe does not count!!

          7.  Girls will need things to pull back their hair...as well as boys with long hair.      

Color Guard – Doug and Kara will explain Hair and Make-Up. 

Students are NOT ALLOWED to change clothes on the bus.  They must change in designated changing rooms.

Behavior in the stands –Please keep in mind that you are representing our school and our band.  Please do not talk badly about other bands....and please do not talk about our band’s business with other groups.  Please turn off all Cell Phones while watching bands perform.  Also, please do not try and enter the stands or leave the stands while a band is performing.  If this is your first competition you will find that these are fun events, but there are definitely differences between band comps and football games.   We need to support all of the bands there.   Please take time to read the article at the following link about appropriate etiquette and band shows.  http://kyband.com/home/articles/marching-contest-etiquette/

FILL THE STANDS WITH DIXIE SUPPORTERS.  This is the last Campbell County show at this awesome stadium, as they are getting a new field at the high school next year.   We always have a great crowd at Campbell County…make this year no exception!
